1. Hi Jenn! Thank you for accepting this interview! How about telling the readers some things about you?

J: Well for starters, I love dark chocolate. I’ve been to Dracula’s castle and a few other places. I might have seen Bigfoot once. I’ve been to three different colleges and still don’t have a degree. I’m a Texan and a Christian, so good manners and morals were instilled in me from early on, not to mention that “Lone Star” pride. ;)

2. What is your book “Stay” about? Tell us a few words about it.

J: Stay is about a young woman who fell head over heels with the wrong man. She didn’t know he was a being powerful enough to control the waves and the storms, or the price she would pay for his love. She was cursed for betraying him and two thousand years later, is still trying to rescue true love. But the new couple she’s sent to save aren’t like any of the others. And she never expected to find a second chance for true love for herself in the process.

Synopsis:

Sometimes, love isn’t as magical as people expect it to be…

Rona believes love is nothing more than a myth, a tale for little girls. As the oldest daughter, she knows duty and family honor as well as the difference between salt and cinnamon.

Until the immortal ruler of the seas appears from thin air and she is swept into a dark and dangerous affair. What was formerly myth soon becomes part of the everyday. And Rona believes when Seid tells her they will be together forever.

But forever is a long time and after she betrays him, what was supposed to be an eternity in paradise becomes an eternity in hell. Now she is cursed, unable to feel human emotions except through the couples she is led to save.

Two thousand years is an awfully long time to live alone. And the business of love saving isn’t what it used to be. By the twenty-first century, love has become an illusion as grandiose as magic and Rona’s ready to give up. Until the night she is seen by a human. Deep in the underbelly of the city that never sleeps, she recognizes him instantly. He may dress differently and have gained a few new scars, but she would recognize the face of her former lover in any lifetime.

Trouble is, he seems to have no memory of her and he and his ex-girlfriend are the ones whose true love she’s meant to save.
But when he starts to fall for her, she is forced to learn what it means to be human all over again.

Past and present come full circle in this tale of love, forgiveness and woe.

3. When did the idea of the book come to your mind?

J: Originally I wrote the prologue as a personal writing exercise, to go with a photo I found online of a woman’s multi-colored eye. I thought of this immortal being that was forced to rescue true love and the story started out as an exploration of that. But I realized I wasn’t the supreme expert on the subject. So I researched. I emailed and talked to more than two dozen woman of different ages, marital statuses and backgrounds about love. That was when the story took shape.

4. The cover of "Stay" looks beautiful! How/When did you decide on it?

J: Actually, this cover is the second coverart I had my friend Najla Qamber create for the story. But my Beta told me after reading the entire story that the cover art didn’t fit with the story. She said it was too much. So I brainstormed with her and Naj and that’s how we decided on focusing just on the sea. As for the artistry, all credit goes to my designer! Check her out HERE.

5. Which are your favorite and also less favorite characters from your book?

J: Orona was my favorite character to write, because of the fact that while she’s so other-worldly, she’s also intensely human at her core. Mrs. Nguyen was a second favorite because it’s always fun getting to know those old people who don’t care what people think of them. I don’t dislike any of the characters in Stay. But I’ll admit that through the first half of writing it, I didn’t like Lissa. I thought she was needy and greedy and didn’t deserve another shot at someone like Cain. But that’s when I realized that her story was just as important as her redemption.

6. Do you have a playlist in your mind for this book?

J: One step ahead of you! You can view my playlist through this link :) HERE.

7. What are your favorite books? You can make a top 5/10 if you would like to :]!

J: Thank you thank you for the top five! In no real order: Anne of Green Gables, Gone With the Wind, The Hero and the Crown, Christy, Mark of the Lion Series, and Jane Eyre. There’s countless others but that’s narrowing it down. :)

8. Where do you usually write your works?

J: In my bedroom. It’s just easier to think without as many distractions around me. And usually I have my headphones and some soundtrack playing, to really wrap my head around the story.

9. What country/countries would you like your books to be popular in?

J: Everywhere! My hope for Stay is that it’s able to reach across all cultures and speak to all women in some way.

10. What do you think about Romania, the country I live in? Would you like to visit it one day?

J: As a matter of fact, I’m pleased to say I have visited Romania and thought it was gorgeous. Your country has such deep roots and it was wonderful getting to meet so many different people from different parts of Craiova and even on our brief visit into Transylvania.

11.  Thank you for answering all of these questions! As an ending, you can say anything that comes to your mind to the readers of this blog.

J: Thanks so much for having me, Simona! My hope for y’all is that this book inspires you to dream and to never give up hope for a second chance. I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to drop by my site and leave a comment or a review on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Smashwords. This book couldn’t have been written without the wisdom and encouragement from women like you. :)
