Some time ago I was browsing through some books and found a really interesting one! "Fireblood" by Trisha Wolfe caught my eye and, after reading the synopsis, I added it on my TBR list!

1. Hi Trisha! Thank you for accepting this interview! How about telling the readers some things about you?
T: Hi, Simona! Thanks so much for having me! Well let’s see…I spend all day writing, pretty much (this includes the hours I “pretend” to write while playing on Twitter;) and I heart chocolate ice cream more than anything. If I don’t have chocolate ice cream, writing doesn’t get done.
2. What is your book “Fireblood” about? Tell us a few words about it.
T: It’s a futuristic “what if” story—what if our future was ruled by a dictator who worshiped Camelot? And Zara, our MC, has been chosen to wed this dictator’s son, Prince Sebastian. She discovers there is an uprising rebellion, and has some tough choices to make while trying to figure out the truth of this Camelot world, its people, and herself.

3. When did the idea of the book come to your mind?
T: Hmm my story ideas always just kind of hit me lol. There’s never a defining moment, I’m usually ending one book and thinking of things I love and would like to write about, when the characters present themselves. This one happened much the same. I was finishing edits for Destiny’s Fire, and I remember telling my critique partner, “Hey, I was thinking about writing some crazy book about Camelot…but make it in the future…with like knights and blaster guns…”
4. Which are your favourite and also less favourite characters from your book?
T: Oh! That’s hard. I love them all, in different ways, equally. I’d have to say writing Sebastian was the most fun…and the most difficult. He’s such a diverse character, good and evil, with so many layers. He went through a lot of transitions, and I struggled with him the most. I find that I usually feel closest to the characters who give me a hard time, and he was very stubborn lol I love to hate him at times.
5. Do you have a playlist in your mind for this book? Did you listen to something when you were writing it?
T: Actually for this book, I didn’t listen to too much music. I couldn’t really find anything that fit the “Camelot theme” and I’m one of those writers that if I’m pulled out of the story, I lose focus. So listening to something current would have been all wrong for the story, but listening to something from way back wouldn’t have fit either. I’d be curious to hear what readers think fits it, though :D
6. Which authors do you consider to have been your inspiration?
T: Anne Rice, Maria V. Snyder, and Kristin Cashore, to name a few. I love Snyder’s amazing world building skills—she inspires me to strive to create different yet believable worlds. Anne Rice was the author who first had me dreaming of writing books in middle school. And Cashore creates some of the strongest and fierce female characters. I admire her very much.
7. Where do you write your works? Any favourite place?
T: My bed! Ha!
8. What country/countries would you like your books to be popular in?
T: I get a lot of emails from Romanian readers! (Thank you!) I’d love for my books to be made available there, and if I’m being completely honest, I’d love for them to be made available everywhere.
9. What do you think about Romania, the country I live in? Would you like to visit it one day?
T: Yes, of course! I’ve always wanted to visit Romania! There’s so much culture and history. I think it would inspire some awesome books :D
